National CND Rally in Barrow-in-Furness, 22nd March 2025See you there?

Please remember that the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) is holding a national demonstration at BAE Systems in Barrow-in-Furness on Saturday 22nd March 2025. and that we hope to see you there.

What you can do? Please come to the pedestrianised area outside The Forum in Duke Street (LA14 1HH) from 11.45 am onwards to collect leaflets (copy attached) to distribute to people in Barrow town centre (notably Dalton Road and Portland Walk.) You can of course join the leafleting whenever you arrive. (The Forum is a Council facility open until 3 pm which includes toilets and a cafe.) Please gather again outside The Forum at 1 pm to walk with us with banners etc to rally for a couple of hours on the High Level (Michaelson Road) Bridge over the Devonshire Dock OR join us on the bridge from 1 pm onwards.(Please note that our event will be overlapping with a Festival of Colours at the Forum and outside it.) .How will you to get to Barrow? Trains via Lancaster and/or Carnforth (from the south and east) arrive in Barrow at 10.01, 11.18, 11.54 and 13.02Trains from the north arrive in Barrow at 10.41, 11.37 and 12.48. (NB. There is a cafe at the station but the toilets are on the platform.)From the station bear left onto Abbey Road, cross and turn right. Walk along Abbey Road to its junction with Dalton Road. Turn left until you get to Portland Walk on your right. Follow Portland Walk to Duke Street. The High Level bridge can be seen from there.The X6 bus from Kendal via Grange, Ulverston etc arrives in Barrow very near to our event at 41 minutes past every hour from 9.41 to 15.41.For other buses, see https://www.westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk/.../bus.../find-bus
