"The drop-in event at Kirksanton Village Hall was well attended, with the majority of

residents appearing to oppose the proposed Geological Disposal Facility (GDF). Many

engaged in discussions with the Nuclear Waste Services (NWS) team, raising concerns

and asking questions.

Steve Attwood and I arrived with placards repurposed from earlier protests, which

effectively conveyed our message. Inside the hall, I walked around holding a placard

high, speaking with attendees and listening to their views. Later, I continued these

discussions outside, where residents were debating the implications of NWS’s focus on

Kirksanton as a potential site.

The NWS team did not seem to object to our presence. However, shortly after, a police

officer arrived to observe the event and ensure public safety."
